Jean-Luc Thomas/Michel Godard : it’s an improbable meeting between the flute and the tuba, based on an idea by Pierre Scheidt, director of the “Fifres de Garonne” festival. These two travelers full of humanity generate a new world of sound. This disc offers a listening experience through its sounds and creativity. Starting with traditional music, it leads to delusions of the imagination. Alternating their positions as soloist or accompanist on the tracks, the musicians don’t hesitate to use the recording, rhythmic loops, electronic effects or recorded voices. The 11 tracks of « La Belle Femme qui pleure » (the beautiful crying woman) take us to the crossroads of jazz, contemporary music, and traditions from Crete, Ireland, Brazil and Brittany.
